Overview
Ugly Site Scraper provides instant access to business data and search results. Because of the nature of the product, refunds are handled differently than traditional subscription software.
Our goal is to be fair while also protecting against misuse.
Credits & Usage
Credits are used each time you run a search.
- Credits are consumed when results are generated
- Credits are used even if you run the same search again
- Credits are tied to results delivered, not time or access
- Each search result includes all available signals — business data, website screenshot, website quality score, and mobile assessment where applicable
Credit Rollover
Unused monthly credits roll over for one billing period only.
- Rolled over credits are added to your available balance for one additional billing period
- Your total available balance of subscription and rollover credits will not exceed 2x your monthly plan allowance
- Credits that would exceed this cap are forfeited at the end of the billing period
- If you downgrade to a lower plan, your rollover cap adjusts to match the new plan’s allowance
Examples:
- Starter plan (500 credits/month) — maximum balance of 1,000 credits
- Pro plan (1,250 credits/month) — maximum balance of 2,500 credits
- Agency plan (2,600 credits/month) — maximum balance of 5,200 credits
Purchased credit pack credits do not roll over — they remain in your account as long as your subscription is active.
Refund Eligibility
Unused Credits
You may request a refund for unused credits within 14 days of purchase.
Example: If you purchase 100 credits and use 30, you may request a refund for the remaining 70 unused credits within 14 days of the original purchase date.
Requests submitted after 14 days are reviewed on a case-by-case basis but are not guaranteed.
Used Credits
Credits that have already been used are non-refundable. Once a search has been run and results have been delivered, the value of the service has been provided.
Purchased Credit Packs
Purchased credit packs follow the same eligibility rules as subscription credits — unused credits may be requested for refund within 14 days of purchase.
Credit packs are frozen if your subscription is cancelled and restored when you resubscribe. Frozen credits are not eligible for refund.
Refund Rate
All unused credit refunds are issued at a standard rate of $0.04 per credit regardless of the original purchase price or plan tier.
This rate accounts for API and infrastructure costs already incurred at the time of purchase.
Examples:
- 50 unused credits → $2.00 refund
- 100 unused credits → $4.00 refund
- 300 unused credits → $12.00 refund
- 750 unused credits → $30.00 refund
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–7 business days.
Automatic Refunds (System Behavior)
In certain cases, credits are automatically refunded by the system:
- If a search returns zero results — full credit refund
- If fewer results are returned than requested — partial refund for the difference
- If a search fails due to a system error — full credit refund
These refunds are handled automatically and do not require a support request. You can verify your credit balance in your dashboard at any time.
Automatic refunds restore credits to your account balance rather than issuing a cash refund.
What Credits Cover
Credits cover the full search result including all available signals — business contact data, website screenshot, website quality score, and mobile assessment.
Individual signal failures — such as a mobile assessment being unavailable or a screenshot failing to capture — do not qualify for a partial refund when core business data was successfully returned. These signals are provided on a best-effort basis and their availability depends on the target website.
Subscriptions
If you are on a subscription plan:
- You may cancel at any time
- Cancellation prevents future billing
- Unused monthly credits roll over for one billing period only up to your plan maximum
- Rolled over credits that exceed your plan maximum are forfeited at renewal
- Any purchased credit packs are frozen upon cancellation and restored when you resubscribe
Subscription Refunds
Subscription charges may be refunded within 14 days of the charge date.
- Full or partial refund amounts may be issued at our discretion
- Subscription refunds always result in immediate cancellation of the subscription
- Current-period subscription credits are revoked upon cancellation
- Purchased top-up credits are frozen upon cancellation and restored if you resubscribe
- No subscription refunds are available after 14 days from the charge date
Exceptional Cases
If you believe there was an error or issue with your account — for example, incorrect credit usage or a technical problem on our end — please contact us.
We review these on a case-by-case basis and will make things right when the issue is on our end.
Abuse & Misuse
We reserve the right to deny refund requests in cases of:
- Repeated use followed by refund requests
- Attempts to extract data and then request a refund
- Requests submitted outside the eligible window without a valid reason
- Any behavior that violates our terms of service
